Outdated red book

I found an old copy of the red coin book - from 2002. Is this book good for ball park values of the coins listed, or is the book completely obsolete?

Thanks,

Beef

Way Way out of date. Missed a good chance a couple of days ago. APMEX was throwing in a new one with orders that day.

Great to look at for historical reasons, but the prices in any one are just hot air anyway.

You can hardly ever buy for what they say and never get what they say for "generic" coins anyway.

So, I take it I may as well buy a 2009 edition and take the numbers with a big grain of salt anyways. Thanks for your input. :ok:

In all honesty, Red Book prices are obsolete before you can buy a current copy. It is great for other information. Subscribe to the "Gray Sheet" if you want to be current on numismatic prices.

I just got the online issue for this week. Thank you both for such excellent advice.
